Something that I am sure many of us out there struggle with, that is posture, maintaining what is supposed to be our spines natural position. How many times do you find yourself sitting at a computer or even just sitting at the table on your phone or eating dinner... slouching forward and then trying to sit upright, it only lasts about 1 minute there after right ?!

If you look at the picture above, this is something that will start to happen slowly but surely over years and years of sitting at a desktop whilst you work away. Lets be honest... your posture becomes horrible and your body gets comfortable at that point. NOW this is where I come in.

Over my years of personal training I have worked with many clients that have been "desktop" orientated and they come to me with a whole host of postural issues that they themselves are usually not aware of because their bodies have learnt to compensate, the chest muscles or (pectoral muscles) tend to become very shortened over time because of the constant roll forward or your shoulders, this also brings on another issue, your back muscles then start to become extremely tight because they are trying their best to pull your shoulder blades back into their what we call "neutral" position and often this is the cause for massive headaches or migraines, lower back pain, neck pain, constant and endless visits to the physio therapist or kyro. Those of you out there that do desktop work know exactly what I am talking about! Unless you combat it, it becomes a very vicious cycle.

Yes, of course there are ways to prevent this happening to your spine over the years OR even if you think you are already there, you can completely change your life by doing a few simple techniques which ill be giving exclusive access to on the Trainwithkeegz membership, you have to be consistent, you have to understand your body and the muscles that are involved in the postural deviation. You need to know how to release the right muscle groups whilst strengthening the others, the body is in a constant battle to keep things where they should be.

The goal at the end of the day... is to make it as easy for the body as possible to maintain "equilibrium". This is why I focus on longevity with my clients, teaching them and empowering them to understand what it means and how to help themselves in situations when they need it.

If youre in need of some assistance getting your posture re-corrected and to eliminate a whole host of discomforts you may experience on a day to day basis. Send me a message, get in contact with me and lets look after our joints and spines folks, we only have one of them.
